A large selection of extra equipment is available for the NX40 and NX45
NavStations, making it extremely easy to upgrade the system to include
sophisticated functions.
Active GPS/WAAS antenna

The optional GS10 active SimNet antenna is recommended as the GPS data source for the system. It will provide an accurate GPS position with WAAS/EGNOS satellite differential corrections plus speed over ground, course over ground, GPS time and satellite information.
GS10 is powered via SimNet and it continues to provide GPS data, even when the NX40/45 NavStation is powered down. GPS data can thus be presented on instruments or autopilot displays connected to SimNet.
Radar Upgrade:

The NX40/45 NavStations are easily upgraded to include radar functionality by adding a digital radar package of either 2 kW or 4 kW Radome or a 6 kW open scanner with a four-foot array.
Video devices:
The built in PAL/NTSC video input allows you to connect video devices such as aft
deck or engine room cameras, underwater cameras or DVD players. You can also install the Simrad High Resolution IR (night vision) color camera in stainless steel.
Fuel monitoring:
Optional fuel flow sensors are available for real-time presentation of fuel consumption and fuel management calculations.

Engine data:
For selected Mercury engines it is possible to obtain complete engine data for presentation on the NX40/45 products, all you need to do is to connect the optional
SmartCraft™ gateway box between the engine and the NX40/45 NavStation.
Automatic Identification System (AIS):
With Automatic Identification System (AIS) you enhance your security at sea. When adding an AIS receiver, you will see other ships on your chart or radar display and you can get the following information displayed for the vessels around you:
- Name and MMSI#
- Type of vessel (tanker, cargo, pleasure, sail etc)
- Closest point of approach (CPA)
- Time to closest point of approach (TCPA)
- Course, speed, heading and rate of turn
